Hello, all you lovely ladies,
As some of you may know, Twisted belles Burlesque (TBB) is still brand new and we are so overwhelmed by its growth and success in its first 6 months.
I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about how our lovely company began.
Like a lot of ladies who dance with us, I too have had life experiences that have left me feeling low, worthless, insecure and weak.
I have a wealth of dance experience and performed for most of my life, from the age of 2 to late teens. I became pregnant at just 17, trapped in an extremely abusive relationship, I lost a little part of myself and drifted away from what I loved. Dancing.
Over the next decade or so I went on to have another child, and in another bad relationship, I sank into depression, truly believing I was destined for nothing better. Isolated, lonely and a young mum with no real direction.
I then went on to marry and have my third child at 30 years old, a surprise to say the least.
It was when Lyla was about 2 years old and I had battled depression, anxiety and started to feel a little more like the old me. I stumbled across an advert for a burlesque fitness instructor. I applied, sailed through the assessment and went on to becoming an instructor and area manager for the company. I met some really amazing people along the way, made some great memories and has a lot of fun.
Sadly the company ethos crumbled and their dynamics changed which left me feeling more suppressed than empowered.
It was then that I decided I wanted to build a company with an ethos that actually empowered women, encouraged them to thrive on their own and be free to explore whatever it was they wanted to achieve. A feeling of true empowerment and confidence.
It was a scary time, a huge leap of faith. I was fortunate, this time, to have found the most amazing & supportive man there ever was. Through his constant encouragement and his media skills, I did it!!!
Twisted Belles Burlesque Was Born ❤

Our team soon went from 1 to 2, to an amazing now 6 instructors!! Each one of them with their own story and journey to take.
I would say to anyone of you reading this to follow your dreams, don’t ever give up, be strong. We all have our demons and battles but together as a family, dancing, empowering one another and being there, it makes that journey a little easier.
TBB would not be where it is if it wasn’t for all our lovely instructors and all of you wonderful dancers.
