Every Body is a beautiful body

As some of you may know we recently held our first annual “Body confidence” shoot (the first of many) we chose the beautiful Thomason’s Foss located at Beck Hole….and it did not disappoint.

We had a few unable to attend last minute due to transport and childcare , but those that did join us . We hope you had as much fun as I did 😊

Due we to the weeks and weeks of endless rain the falls were in full flow with a huge swell, the treck down there was definitely interesting and a few wrong turns were made 🤣

But we got there in the end 🙏

We were joined by the super talented Matt at Electric Eye Photography. He did a fantastic job putting the ladies at ease and really getting into the vibe.

He even got me (one who doesn’t like my photos taken ) sporting a Bond girl like pose that , I must admit . Made me feel super sexy and liberated.

Body confidence and loving the skin your in is never an easy task for some of us and can be a daily struggle learning to love who you are.

As the Boss lady of TBB I shamefully admit that I , myself are struggling with self image right now. At 41 my body is changing shape and I am the biggest I’ve ever been to date and struggling with the usual level of gym , diet and exercise motivation. It’s all in that hormonal belly area. so like you , this shoot was way out of my comfort zone. Especially as we have a “no edit/no filter” rule on these shoots.

up to 97% of women in the UK have negative thoughts about they’d body’s and up to 57% of teenage girls experience the same thoughts 😞

Todays society, media and culture lead us to believe that one body shape is how all women should look, leaving us feeling insecure that our bodies will never look that way.

Well our mission at TBB is (always) to try and show you all (myself included) that ALL bodies are beautiful in their own right, you don’t need to be perfect to be beautiful and YOU ALL have the right to feel beautiful in your body.

We all wobble somewhere 😉

Anyone else wanting to join us on our next shoot , you are more than welcome. You do not have to attend our classes to be at a TBB event. We welcome anyone to join us from any group, area or background. Burlesque is about coming together and having a safe and inclusive space where ALL individuals can express themselves freely ❤️

We would love you to explore that comfort zone with us next year.
